Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture is located in the east region of Jilin province of China.

the border of China and North Korea. With the capital city of Yanji, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture usually is called as Yianbian prefectur or Yanbian. As the largest gathering place for Korean ethnic group, its jurisdiction area is 43474 square kilometers and population is about 2.27 million in 2010 year. Han nationality accounts for 59% of the total population of this prefecture and Korean ethnic group accounts for 39% of the remaining population. There are 8 cities and counties including Yanji, Tumen, Dunhua, Hunchun, Longjing,Helong,Wangqing and Antu.Yanbian is located in the Changbai Mountain area with forest area of 3.228 million hectares, the forest coverage rate is about 79.6%.
