Application Information for Chinese Government Scholarship of

Yanbian University, 2024

I. SUPPORTING CATEGORIES AND APPLICATION DEADLINE

1. Full time postgraduate, and PhD students.

2. Duration: The scholarship covers both major study and Chinese language/

preparatory study (if applied, Chinese language courses last one year), as specified in Admission Letter.

III. ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible, an applicant must:

1. Just for freshmen from foreign countries (We don’t provide scholarship to the coming graduates from universities in China.)

2. Be a citizen of a country other than the PRC and in good health both mentally and physically.

3. Be an academically excellent holder of a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent under the age of 35 when applying for a Master’s program.

4. Be an academically excellent holder of a Master’s degree or its equivalent under the age of 40 when applying for a doctoral program.

5. The major that applicants applied for should belong to the same discipline of his/her highest level of education.

6. Have passed the HSK (Level 4) when applying for a Chinese-taught postgraduate program.

IV. SCHOLARSHIP COVERAGE

1. Tuition fees, application fee, and accommodation fee (only for double rooms, no family rooms) .

2. Monthly stipend is paid to the students by the host institution at the following rates (CNY Yuan per month):

   Master’s Students scholars: CNY 3,000 Yuan

   Doctoral Students scholars: CNY 3,500 Yuan

V. APPLICATION DOCUMENTS

1. Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship: please register and complete the online application form through https://www.campuschina.org/index.html

(the code of Yanbian University is 10184, application type is B. Application without online application will not be accepted).

2. Copy of Passport: Applicant shall submit a clear scanned copy of the information page of his/her ordinary passport with validity later than September, 2024. If the validity of the current passport does not meet the requirement, please apply for a new passport before submitting the application.

3. Notarized highest diploma: Prospective diploma winners must submit official proof of student status by their current school proving expected date of receiving degree. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

4. Academic transcripts (from the undergraduate program onwards): copies of academic records from first to last semester during the undergraduate, graduate(if any), and doctoral programs(if any) shall be provided. Transcripts shall be issued and scaled by the attending university’s academic affairs office, graduate school or student management department. Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

5. Certificate of Employment (if any).

6. A Study Plan or Research Proposal in Chinese or English. A study plan written in Chinese or English shall contain more than 1000 words; the proposal of a doctoral student shall be signed by the applicant’s Chinese supervisor.

7. Recommendation letters: two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English from professors or associate professors. These letters shall describe the applicant’s objectives of learning in China, comprehensive abilities, and evaluation of future growth.

8. Applicants for music, fine art or design studies are requested to submit their own works through “example of art other supporting documents”in the system. Applicants for fine arts programs must submit their own works which include two sketches, two color paintings and two other works.

9. Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English (the original copy should be kept by the applicant). The form is designed by the Chinese quarantine authority and can be obtained from the dispatching authority. The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months.

10. HSK certificate: Valid HSK4 or HSK5 certificate with score over 180 for level 4 or 210 for level 5.

11. Notarized Non-criminal record report or Police Clearance Certificate issued by the local public security (such as the police station), usually issued within six months prior to the submission date of the application.

Reminder: uploaded supporting documents must be clear, authentic and valid. Applicants are recommended to use a professional device to scan the relevant documents. Applicant shall bear the consequences caused by unclear or unidentifiable uploaded materials.

VI. APPLICATION PROCESS

1. Register and complete the online application through https://www.campuschina.org/index.html, upload all the required documents.

2. Applicants who pass our evaluation will receive a Pre-Admission Letter issued by our university.

3. Upload Pre-Admission Letter to your online application.

4. Wait for the result of your Chinese Government Scholarship application.

5. Yanbian University will notice winners of CSC scholarship the results and these winners will receive a new official ADMISSION NOTICE with scholarship condition and visa application documents mailed by us.

VII. REMINDER

1. All application documents should be in Chinese or English. If not, please submit notarized Chinese or English translations.

2. Graduates from Yanbian University do not need to submit diploma and transcripts issued by our university.

3. Please take all original hard copies of application documents and 8 personal photos (with white background 3.5cm*5.3cm) when register at school. Admission will be canceled if students can not pass qualification evaluation and physical examination when register at school.

4.Incomplete application documents will not be accepted.All documents will not be returned.

6.Admitted applicants must register at university within the registration period prescribed by our University. Students who fail to register as required without permission, his/her status and scholarship status will be automatically canceled.

7.All candidates shall not receive more than two scholarships at same time supported by Chinese government or university,or scholarship will be canceled once founded and received stipends should be returned. For those who purposely withheld scholarship information are not allowed to apply Chinese government scholarships in 3 years.

8. Please notice that we do not recruit Chinese Government Scholarship students through any agencies. The whole application and evaluation process is free.
